Here are some mindfulness practices that you can do with your child!
We hope these practices can help you connect with your child on a deeper level.
Gratitude
Create a conversation anytime of the day with your child to talk about one thing they are grateful for
Encourage your child to keep a gratitude journal where he or she writes at least 5 things they are grateful for and review at the beginning and end of the day.
Be Present
Schedule a weekly family appointment to do an activity together for example a games night, movie night or even a cooking session together
Make it a habit to put away all devices during family time
Accept Yourself and Your Child
Allow your child to be authentic and have autonomy over his or her decisions
Respect your child's feelings and opinions.
Validate your child's feelings and provide them with strategies on how to deal with overwhelming feelings
Empathy
Model respect for those who are different
Recognise, validate and affirm your child when he or she shows kindness towards others or animals
Meditation
Set a time before bed with your child to meditate using the guided apps. Create a calm and relaxing environment for children to fall asleep.
